#44 - 15 Ways to Build a Strong Relationship with Yourself
Welp, it’s official. Mario and I tested positive for you know what. It happened the day we were supposed to fly back to Bali after a long three month trip around the world. Although it’s a bummer and a surprise, I consider us lucky for not having any major symptoms.
What a way to end our travels though. We went from romantic strolls, epic dinners and sightseeing to quarantining alone in a government isolation facility (it’s not as bad as it sounds).
It’s given me a lot of time to think and integrate the last few months of my life. I feel like I’ve grown. And because my partner and I shared so many new experiences together, we’ve grown as a couple too. We’ve learned how to better communicate, navigate through conflict, provide support for each other and even give each other space. Plenty of it.
For example, I’m writing this in my own room because we decided to book separate places during our time in quarantine. Yup, we’re paying double the amount we need to and are staying right across the hall from each other because we need our space.
There was no fighting involved, or hard feelings. It was a decision that we both agreed upon and felt was right not only for our relationship but for us individually as well.
In my latest podcast episode, I talk about the most important relationship of all: the one we have with ourselves. I discuss why it’s necessary to cultivate a strong connection with yourself and what could happen if you don’t. I also share 15 useful tips on how to build a strong self-relationship.
At the end of the episode I offer a FREE gift, a downloadable audio guide called the Mind, Body and Soul Check in. It’s something I learned from attending the Hoffman Process a few years back that helps me connect with all parts of myself. I practice it every morning and I wanted to share my version with you. You can also download it right away here.
