#48 Exploring Gender Identity to Live a Fully Expressed Life w/ Natasha Mooney Walton

Welcome to March. There is some wild shit happening in the world right now and I’m swimming in a pool of mixed emotions about it all.

I had been looking forward to spring and ready for new beginnings after a tough two years. The borders in Bali are finally opening up which had me mentally preparing for some lightness, and instead there's a lot of weight from an impending world war that can potentially happen.

My heart goes out to the people in Ukraine. What they’re enduring is devastating and traumatic.

All we really can do is hope for the best, help in any way we can and try to spread as much good into the world as possible - to counter all the negativity.

One of the things I find good in this world is community, real human connection. Staying in touch with my loved ones and nurturing our relationships give me life. And I appreciate that I can share these special people and their incredible stories with you all.

This week on the podcast, I’m delighted to share a conversation that I have with my dear friend, Natasha Mooney Walton. She tells her story of how she connected deeper with her identity by coming out as non-binary. Throughout her life and career she explained that there were a lot of things that caused pain and adversity. And by going through a big journey and accessing her true self and gender identity, she was able to find alignment and strength in multiple areas of her life.

As a friend and podcast host, I am proud to share stories of people from marginalized communities like Natasha. I think they are some of the most courageous because they have to work harder, and do it with less resources and support, and oftentimes some opposition.

As a BIPOC woman, being marginalized is kind of a part of my identity. And this month I’ve decided to put a focus on the topic of identity - how race, gender, and age plays a role and how to surrender to who we are to live a more fulfilling life.

Excited to share over the next few weeks!
