#59 You Don’t Find Your Purpose, Let It Find You w/ Desi Danganan

I teach workshops internationally about finding purpose. Some of the people who attend have a hard time accessing their purpose and have the belief that “doing what you love” is unobtainable.

This is partially due to societal conditioning and the effects of the industrial revolution, which we can talk more about on another day.

A few years ago, something tragic happened that changed us all - a global pandemic. It was hard for every single one of us (except for some billionaires who shall not be named). But one good thing that I’ve seen come from it is that more and more people are now turned on to the idea of doing more of what they’re passionate about.

The great resignation is evidence of this. A steady paycheck is no longer a priority for employees. People are leaving their jobs to find more meaning in their work

People want to connect with their purpose.

In my interview with Desi Danganan, he talks about his life and entrepreneurial journey: from designing some of the first websites that ever existed, to opening night clubs in San Francisco, to becoming a community leader and founder of a non-profit for Filipinos and other marginalized communities.

He shares that the creative genius behind navigating these roles in completely different industries were driven from somewhere deep. He explains how he taps into this energy and how it is the key ingredient that has led him to doing purposeful work in his career.
