#66 How to Reach Your Goals without Even Having to Think about Them

There was a time in my life when I was averaging between 4-5 hours of sleep per night. I slept super late because I was so busy during the day and all I wanted was some time to myself in the evening. (Side note - did you know there’s an actual term for this called revenge bedtime procrastination?).

Sometimes I would look at the clock, it would be after 2am and I would think, WTH have I been doing with my time?

Often it was social media that kept me up. Going down rabbit holes of content: seeing what my crush on Instagram was up to, which celebrity was dating who or how to make the perfect pasta sauce.

When the alarm went off at half past 6, I would feel horrible. Like hungover but without all the fun the night before.

Life looks a little different these days.

Here in Bali I’m in bed at around 9:30pm and wake up around 5am without an alarm clock. My morning routine is: meditate, journal, make coffee, get to the gym by 7am and have an early start to my work day.

Want to know the magic trick I learned to transform my sleep schedule and morning routine?

The secret was forming habits. Not all at once, but in very small increments. I’d start with one habit, then stack another on top and eventually it became a whole system.

In my most recent podcast episode: How to be successful without even having to think, I share the ONE thing that can make or break your success: Habits!

Here are some highlights I cover in this week’s episode:

  • What a habit really is

  • How to create new habits in 4 parts

  • How to leverage the way our brains work

  • Why motivation isn’t enough for us to change our behavior

And a few other personal habit hacks of my own.
